The weather and track conditions were particularly difficult this Saturday morning, on the Dijon-Prenois circuit. The Bourguignon track is the scene of the second round of the 2019 season of the Ultimate Cup Series.
Even before the end of the first lap, the safety car entered on the track because of the Norma M30 #7/Real Team Racing running off the track, after contact with another Norma in the first corners.
The second victory of the season was won by Arnold and Maxime Robin on the Norma M30 #72/TFT. The two men, despite numerous neutralisations, won with a lead of almost a minute over Hugo Carini and the father-son duo Lionel and Antoine Robert. So it’s a double for Norma/Duqueine.
Starting from pole position, the Ligier JS P3 #26/Wimmer Werk Motorsport had a difficult first hour by falling heavily in the ranking, even pointing to 4 laps behind the leaders. Matthias Kaiser and Vincent Capillaire still finished fourth, just outside of the final podium. Fifth place for Norma #9/Graff Racing, driven by Sanjuan and Trouillet who won the Ultimate category (Bronze crews).
The Proto category now meets in Slovakia for the third round of the championship.
