For the first meeting of the Ultimate Cup series Auto, held at Estoril this past weekend, the victory of the GT category went to one of the three Renault RS01’s that had entered the race.

It was in fact car n# 23 ran by DEMJ, driven by the frenchman Lucien Crapiz and Italien driver Max Mugelli that got the win after the 4 hours had passed, beating another RS01 in the process which was one of the two cars of Vincent Abric’s team  AB Sport, n#46 driven by Ronny Montereau, Thierry and up and coming former single seater driver Gregory Segers, finishing 1’07.592 behind the leader.

After struggling with electrical issues from the starting grid, Visiom’s Ferrari F488, with Jean Paul Pagny, Jean Bernard Pouvet and Thierry Perrier at the wheel, were the third team to step on the podium

The top 5 was completed by the Foenix ran by Hugues Baude’s team Solution F driven by Gerard Faure, Stéphan Pourquié and ex F1 driver Jonathan Cochet, with seven laps behind the leaders; and coming in 5th place was AB Sport’s second RS01, car n#45 with french drivers Franck Thybaud, Sébastien Chardonnet and Spanish driver Jorge Domingues sharing the wheel.

In the UGTX category, team 3 Y Technology’s BMW M4 secured the win with Bernard Salam, André Recordier and Jordan Perroy, beating CD Sport’s Porsche Cayman, driven by Matieu Valette and Milane Petelet.

And Finally it was a DNF for TM Evolution’s Ginetta G50, with the car being in the hands of Bruno Chaudet and Gregoire Boutonnet.
