By crossing the finish line in the first position in the first race at Circuit Paul Ricard this Friday afternoon, SR&R and the driver of Ferrari 488 Challenge No. 33, Francesco Atzori, clinch the final titles at stake in the Sprint GT-Touring Challenge of the Ultimate Cup Series European.
With sixteen class victories under their belt (3 in UGT3A and 13 in UGT3B), the Italian team led by Manfredi Ravetto and Paolo Ruberti secures the overall team title with just two races remaining in the season.
At the age of 27, Francesco Atzori, who has had a stellar debut season in the Ultimate Cup Series European, is already crowned UGT3B champion.
Manfredi Ravetto, co-owner of the SR&R team: “We are really very happy to have won the overall team classification and to bring home one more title in ultimate as it was last year, again, this year. We are very happy with this championship and we will continue. The most important thing is that we bring young drivers and new talents to win. What we did last year with Eduardo Barbolini, we repeated this year with Francesco Azori, another rookie, another Italian driver who drives for the first time out of Italy. He learned a lot with us and this makes us very happy.”
Paolo Ruberti, co-owner of the SR&R team: “We are super proud to be champions again in the ultimate series. It’s a very good championship, European series, where our drivers grow up, growing up and improve his skill. We are really happy and we are looking forward to the next year already.”
Francesco Atzori, driver of #33 Ferrari 488 Challenge: “I believe it is an extremely professional and high-quality championship. For this first year behind the wheel of a GT, I am pleased with my performance, especially by clinching the championship in the very first race of the weekend. The driving sensation is excellent; the Ferrari 488 Challenge provides remarkable engine power, and the mechanical components are of high quality. In summary, I consider it an exceptional car.”
