The drivers entered this weekend in the GT category of the Ultimate Cup Series drove this Saturday to set the best time. For the first time this season, the AB Sport Auto Renault RS01 #46 will start from pole position in the Sunday race of the Challenge GT.
At the average of the best times of each pilot, Tiziano Carugati, Nicolas Maunoir and Greg Segers set the fastest time of 1:49.583. It was the same man who set the absolute benchmark for the weekend by completing the 5.245 kilometers of the Italian Mugello circuit with a time of 1:46.865.
There will be two RS01 on the first row of the starting grid thanks to the second time of the #23/DEMJ, shared by Lucien Crapiz, Max Mugelli and Patrick Sarrailh. The three men conceded 3 tenths (1:49.883) to the polemen. The Ferrari 488 GT3 #1/Visiom trio, leader of the GT championship, set the third fastest time of 1:49.976, just ahead of the Renault #45/AB Sport Auto (1:53.905). The Vortex V8 #701 and the Porsche Cayman GT4 #11/KRAFF Racing close the gap on the third row.
